Obituary of Mary Isabelle Irvin

Isabelle Irvin, also known as Mary Isabelle Irvin, born at Stamford Hospital on March 7, 1918, daughter of the late Adolphus R. and Sadie Scott Irvin, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Watrous Nursing Center in Madison, CT. A lifetime Darien resident, she graduated from Darien High School in 1936. She worked as a clerk for the Darien Probate Court for 49 years. She joined Noroton Presbyterian Church on March 27, 1932 where she served as a Deacon and as Secretary of the Women's Association. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Darien Audubon Society for nine years. She is survived by several cousins, Mary Ellenbast and her husband Hank of Madison, CT; Linda Taylor of Las Vegas, NV; Joan Gibbons and her husband Kevin of Newtown, CT and their daughters, Heather and Laura Gibbons also of Newtown, CT; Nancy Bouton of Springvale, ME; Gary Bouton of Greensboro, NC; and Virginia Greenwood of Nokomis, FL. She is also survived by several cousins in Florida, Georgia and High Point, NC. She is predeceased by cousins, Ruth Osad and Charles I. Bouton. A Funeral Service will be held at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Samuel Schreiner presiding from the Noroton Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien. Memorial donations may be sent to the Noroton Presbyterian Church, P. O.
