John M. O'Toole, an 85 year resident of Darien, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2010 in Norwalk, CT. Born on June 22, 1917 in Stamford, he was the son of the late Mary Roddy and Thomas E. O'Toole. He was 93. John graduated from Darien High School, class of 1935. He was president of the senior class and manager of the football team. He was head custodian for the Darien Board of Education. He was a longtime parishioner of St. John R.C. Church, a longtime member of Noroton Fire Department and a long standing member of the Darien Old Timers Athletic Association. John is survived by 11 nieces and nephews; many grand nieces and nephews and three great grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six brothers and sisters. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Friday, October 8, 2010 from 10:00 to 10:45 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John R.C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery in Darien. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Hospice of S. E.
