CORPER – Philip Lewis of Stamford, Conn., formerly Chappaqua, NY and Wilmette, IL, died on September 3, 2010, at home of natural causes. Born in Chicago, IL, April 14, 1926, to Philip and Alyce Corper, he was a graduate of New Trier High School and Northwestern University. He served in the US Navy South Pacific for two years during WWII aboard the USS Crouter. A career in advertising led to television and radio sales until he retired as president of H. R. Television and co-partner of Ocean Coast Properties. Predeceased by his wife, Anne Hollingbery Corper, Philip is survived by their children, Debby Corper of Barcelona, Spain; Doug Corper of Wilton, CT; Tom Corper of New York City; Cathy Sullivan of Darien, CT; and 14 grandchildren. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he cherished his friends, the Chicago White Sox, Sigma Chi, and jazz. Services will be held 11AM, Saturday, October 2, Noroton Presbyterian Church, 2011 Post Road, Darien, CT.
