Obituary of Peter A. Cantavero

Peter A. Cantavero, a resident of Darien for 38 years and former resident of Greenwich passed away on May 28, 2010 at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Born on November 21, 1926 in Greenwich, CT, he was the son of the late Agostiano Cantavero and Susan Ginese Cantavero. He was 83. Peter graduated from Greenwich High School and worked as a mason during his younger years. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He then started his own business called Environmental Enterprises. He is survived by his wife, Carmella DiNapoli Cantavero of Darien; one son Agostiano (Gus) and wife Elena Cantavero, of Greenwich and three step-daughters Donna Davis of Darien, Bernadette Napolitano of Redding and Camille Andriunas of Darien and one step-son Nicholas Tarzia of Darien. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by five sisters, Conchetta, Ada, Lillian, Laura and Lorita. A calling hour will be held at the Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Rd., Darien, CT on Thursday, June 3, 2010 from 9:00 AM to 10:00AM. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr., P.O. Box 5022, Wallingford, CT 06492.
