Obituary of Maude L. Banks

Maude Louise Banks, a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Bridgeport Hospital. She was born in Stamford in 1939, where she lived for 43 years before moving to Stratford, where she resided for the past 27 years. She was the daughter of the late Hugo Nosenzo and Vivian Hall Nosenzo. She was 70 years old. Maude received a degree in nursing from Stamford Hospital. She was a longtime registered nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital in Stamford and continued her nursing career for Dr. McNerney in Stamford. She then worked in private care nursing until her retirement. Maude was a member of St. James R.C. Church in Stratford. She is survived by her son, Joseph C. Banks Jr. and his wife, Su-Lin, of Newport, NC and daughter, Michelle DeAngelo and her husband, Coy, of Stratford, CT. She is also survived by one brother, Hugo Nosenzo of Woodbury, CT; two sisters, Georgianna Cecire of Stamford, CT and Vivian Plantier of Florida; three grandchildren, Allegra Banks, Coy DeAngelo Jr., and Kaleigh DeAngelo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Banks, Sr.; two brothers, Gino and Michael Nosenzo and one step-son, James Banks. Calling hours will be held at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Monday, April 5, 2010 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. James R.C. Church, 2110 Main St., Stratford, CT on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Trumbull.
