“I am ready to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the ordeal of meeting me is another matter.†.... quote from Winston Churchill Mr. Salerno was a special man, one of those fabulous characters you do not meet too often. His impact on family and friends was obvious at the wake - their tributes were heartfelt and heartwarming. What a loss. Hoping you are all comforted by the antics and memories you will share throughout the years. Just imagine what he has planned for those in Heaven!

I was a childhood friend of Andrea Belanger & Janet. We were in carriages together grew up in each others houses. Andrew was always the jokester, always laughing. Playing Santa but not fooling my brother Anthony who passed away at 23. he would say, "that's not santa, that's Andrew!" Andrew & Palma baby sat for me as a baby. He called me "Ole Hawkshaw, we never sleep" I reminded him of that on our last phone call, last month. He laughed hard. It was good to talk again. We lost contact. My mother Mary & Palma were best friends. She didn't hear from them so I tracked them down, it was too late to talk with her dear friend Palma, she cried. But we had a great conversation with Andrew. Reminding of old stories. remember the time they moved my fathers car. they had a key that fit. Dad thought it was stolen, Andrew and friends laughed so hard. Dad was mad. But that was Andrew always laughing. We will miss him but always remember his smile.

I'm so glad you shared this with me Janet. It is very clear to me where you get your warmth, care and compassion from! I'm sure that wonderful smile of his will follow you everywhere though, just from a higher place than before! My condolences to all of you. Victoria Lyon Martin

Your dad was a wonderful man who loved life (and jokes)! That spirit will live in the next life, and if we listen closely we'll hear the laughter.

As a good friend of his daughter, Janet, I knew Andrew for only a brief time. His charming, up-beat personality made him instantly likeable. I will never forget his successful attempt to make me feel at ease by emanating a positive, light filled glow that came from the heart. A friend forever, you can count on me to be there for you Janet. Jim

I will always remember Andy as a kind, and generous man. He would come to our house laden with gifts (most past their expiration date); yet he'd have a special item for each member of the family. He never left anyone out. He was very good to our children, especially patient and gentle with them. They were very fond of him. I was always amazed at his energy and spirit. He devoted his entire life to his family. If you "knew" Andy then you knew about his wife,Palma, his beloved daughters and his many grandchildren. He was so proud of all of you. I never knew anyone else who taped pictures of their loved ones to the dashboard of their car. He "kept" you with him wherever he went. His sense of humor defined his character and HE WAS A CHARACTER!, one I and all my family will dearly miss. We love you Andy, save a place for the rest of us. Bon Voyage! and God Bless :)
