My sisters and I have known Bill since we were little girls. We used to ride our bicycles from his house down Foxhill Lane in Darien. I remember him as a kind, gentle, thoughtful man with a wonderful sense of humor. He will be sorely missed.

Our memories of Bill will be filled with his gentle manner, graceful ways. generous spirit and thoughtfulness for his family and friends. He was a man to admire and emulate. He was thankful for a telephone call, a visit to his home or an e-mail from his friends. His capacity for making a person feel special was remarkable. His memory and good deeds will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know this special man.

My Uncle of 95 years. Like no one else - he was interested in you and what you were doing. Bill put others first, as only the great ones do. Always full of good advice and never critical. With his winning ways he charmed a lot of people. He loved with vigor and he was easy with being loved. I will miss him so much.

The Kiwanis Club of Darien mourns the death of our esteemed member, Bill Swett. Bill was an amicable, loyal and hard working member who fully supported the Kiwanis aim of "Serving the Children of the World". He could always be counted on to do more than his share during our various fund raisers, continually being among the leaders in our citrus and raffle ticket sales. We will miss him in these endeavors as well as his enjoyable presence at our meetings. We would like to express our sincere condolences to Nina, Leslie, Howard and the rest of his extended family. Our thoughts and prayers are with them. Paul S. Larson, President.

Bill had a love for games, and gave many games to his great great nephews Alex, Ben and Jeremiah. Chess, dominoes, jacks, pickup sticks, all the old time games. He had a great sense of humor and will be missed by all of the Exeter Swetts.
