Obituary of Michael K. Stanton

Michael K. Stanton, a resident of Stamford, CT, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City. Born in 1932 in New York City, he was the son of the late Walter X. and Gertrude K. Stanton. He was 76.
Michael graduated from the Fordham Preparatory School in 1950, Fordham College in 1954 and Fordham Law School in 1959. He was an attorney with Weil, Gotshal & Manges in New York. He was a member of the Fordham Law Alumni Association and Semper Amici.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Stanton of Stamford, CT; five children, Michael K. Stanton, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Stamford, CT; Timothy J. Stanton and his wife Elizabeth of Fairfield, CT; Brian P. Stanton and his wife, Melissa of Davidsonville, MD; Matthew J. Stanton and his wife Barbara of Mendham, NJ and Meagan P. Fahey of Stamford, CT; and 12 grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Walter X. Stanton, Jr. of Port Washington, NY. He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph L. Stanton.
Friends may call at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Saturday, July 25, 2009 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM and from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Sunday, July 26, 2009 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM and from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Fordham University Church, Rose Hill Campus, 441 East Fordham Road, Bronx, NY on Monday, July 27, 2009 at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.
