Obituary of Daniel R. Nuzzo

A long time Stamford resident, passed away on July 27, 2009 at Stamford Hospital. Born in Norwalk, CT on May 21, 1925, he was the son of Rocco and Angelina Renzulli Nuzzo. Mr. Nuzzo graduated from Yale University School of Engineering and from the University of Connecticut with a Master's degree in Business Administration. He began his career at the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics in 1948 in Virginia. In 1952, Mr. Nuzzo moved to Stamford and began working for United Technologies Corporation where he spent his entire career, retiring as President of Norden Systems, Norwalk, CT. He also served his country in the U.S. Naval Air Corp. during WWII. Dan is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Geraldine DeFeo Nuzzo, and children Geraldine A. Nuzzo of Stamford, Donna Nuzzo-Mueller and her husband Gregory of Boston, MA; and Daniel R. Nuzzo, Jr and his wife Patricia of Vancouver, WA; a brother Salvatore Nuzzo of North Carolina; and his sisters Mary Ganino of Hartford, CT; Melinda Coppolo, Mafalda Signore, and Angelina Conte all of Florida; and four grandchildren, Ariana Nuzzo and Isabella Nuzzo of Stamford; and Daniel Nuzzo-Mueller and Gregory Nuzzo-Mueller of Boston, MA. Mr Nuzzo was predeceased by a brother Ralph Nuzzo and a sister Filamina Castango. Friends may call at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home 2119 Post Road Darien on Friday July 31, 2009 from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM on Saturday August 1, 2009 at Church of Holy Spirit on Scofieldtown Road in Stamford.
