Obituary of Helen A. Frate

Helen A. Frate, a resident of New Canaan since 1937, died on Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Norwalk Hospital as a result of complications from a fall suffered on January 21. Born on December 11, 1912 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Florence and Charles Anderson. She was 96.
Helen graduated from Bay Ridge High School in Brooklyn, NY in 1930 and from Short Secretarial School in Stamford in 1931. She married Stephen J. Frate on August 22, 1937 in Wilton.
She is survived by her daughter Carol Cunningham and her husband, James, of Stanfordville, NY; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren and a brother, Charles Anderson of Lady Lake, FL. She was predeceased by her husband, Stephen, on February 27, 1989; a son, Kenneth A. Frate, on March 31, 1977 and a sister, Florence Kvande.
