Obituary of Stephen Lanzit

Steve Lanzit, a resident of New Canaan and a former resident of Darien, passed away at his home on Sunday, November 2, 2008. Born on November 13, 1931 in Los Angeles, CA, he was the son of the late Harriet and Ray Lanzit. He was 76. Mr. Lanzit served four years in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War. He graduated from U. C. L. A. in the School of Business. He was an investment broker before retiring. His favorite past time was duplicate bridge for which he earned the American Contract Bridge League Life Master Certificate for outstanding achievement in bridge competition. He is survived by his wife, Carol; a son Rusty and his wife, Anne from Chaplin, CT; a daughter, Tori Lanzit of Fairfax, VA and two grandchildren, Stephen Lanzit III and Taylor Lanzit. He is also survived by a sister, Sue Phelan and her family of Moraga, CA. He had a witty sense of humor and will be missed by all. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Saturday, November 8, 2008 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A private family interment will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien.
