EDWARD V. BOYLE
Edward V. Boyle 75, a longtime resident of Darien, CT, died peacefully on October 20th at his home, after a courageous battle with cancer. Also known as Buddy to all of his family and friends, he lived in Darien for the past 43 years. He was pre-deceased by his parents John and Mary Boyle and also his sister, Marion "Butsy" DeCicco. Buddy grew up in Larchmont, NY and graduated from Mamaroneck High School in 1951. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957 where he met his first wife, Marianne, while stationed in Germany. He was employed by the New York Telephone Company for 35 years and retired in 1994. Buddy was an avid boater and spent many days at the Darien Boat Club. He lived life to the fullest and was quite the prankster to all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife Ann, of 31 years and his three children; Joanne Morgan and her husband Doug and her daughter Nicole of Clearwater, FL; Peter Boyle of Clearwater, FL; Sue Boyle of Dunedin, FL; and three step-daughters Linda Fitzpatrick and her husband Randy and their son Daniel of Darien, CT; Margaret Cohen and her husband Bob and their children Rachel and Samantha of Wolcott, CT; and Joan Mikus and her husband Ken and their daughter Hannah of Mahopac, NY. Buddy is also survived by his brother-in-law Thomas DeCicco of Stamford, CT and his children; Stephen DeCicco and his wife Roberta and their son Kevin of Norwalk, CT; Patricia DeCicco of Seymour, CT; and Lori DeCicco and her children Brittany, Tami and Megan of Wallingford, CT. Visitation will be Thursday, October 23rd from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Rd., Darien, CT (203) 655-6127. A service will be held at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home on Friday, October 24th, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to your favorite charity in Buddy's memory. You will always be in our hearts "Poppy"-Your Loving Family.
