Obituary of Dana Wells Cahoon

Dana Wells Cahoon of Darien, Connecticut, died Friday morning, August 1, 2008, at Norwalk Hospital in Norwalk, Connecticut, of a massive heart attack. He was born in Salem, Massachusetts on December 4, 1944, son of Charles Dana Cahoon of Sarasota, Florida, and the late Joan Wells Cahoon. He was raised in Boxford, Massachusetts and attended Union College, where he studied engineering. Dana Cahoon was a management and operations analyst for over twentyfive years with Bearingpoint, KPMG, Perot Systems, and Gemini Consulting, working with clients across the country and in Europe, Asia, and South America. Prior to founding the visual communications firm Business Graphics in the mid-seventies, he was a photographer for UPI and other press organizations on assignment in the Middle East, Africa, and Central America. Dana Cahoon was an accomplished woodworker, audiophile, and target shooter, and an avid student of archeology and history. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Nancy Stauffer Cahoon, and his son, Dana Hamilton Cahoon, of Darien; his sister, Laurie McAleer, of Ipswich, Massachusetts; his aunt, Jean Cahoon, of Woodbridge, Connecticut; his mother-in-law, Barbara Stauffer, of West Norwalk, Connecticut, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 13 at 11:00am at St. Luke's Parish in Darien, with a reception following in Parish Hall. Interment at Spring Grove Cemetery will be private.
