Obituary of Jean Ellen Marie Bennett

Jean Ellen Marie Bennett died after a short illness Friday the 26th of February 2010 in Denver, CO. She was married to the late Henry William Bennett who passed September of 2003 of Darien, CT for 62 years. Born June 22, 1915 in Quebec, Canada, she moved to the states and became a citizen at the age 16. Jean had four children, twin daughters who died at child birth, son Ronald and his wife Cindy of Nokomis, FL and Bruce and his wife Carlene of Denver, CO. She had five grandchildren and six great grandchildren, Lisa Geist and her husband Steve of Bethel, CT with their children Katelyn, Piper and Nathaniel; Ashley Owen-Bennett of Norwalk; Rachael Jarvis and her husband Kevin of Anderson, IN with their children Jeffrey, Andrew, and Aubrey; Jennifer Bennett of Vienna, VA and Keith Bennett of Darien. She was predeceased by a brother Albert Goodwin and sister Stella Lafevre of Canada. Jean was a foster mother in her early years for over 100 children who she cared for in her home, she was also active with the Noroton Fire Department's ladies auxiliary for a number of years. The family will have a memorial service later this year with an interment at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien where her husband is buried.
