Obituary of Ralph Breswitz
Ralph Breswitz passed away on Tuesday, April 7th at his home in Rowayton with his wife, Olga, and dog, Max, at his bedside. Born in Binghamton, NY, he was the son of the late Hazel and Charles Breswitz.
Ralph is survived by his wife Olga, a sister Joan and her husband Gene Mertz and several nieces and nephews.
Ralph was an extraordinaire photographer, illustrator and art director for the leading New York advertising agencies LaRoche, Ogilvy and K&E. His sensitive and captivating covers for The New York Times Magazine, Newsweek, and Forbes illustrated presidents and world dignitaries like Franz Josef Strauss, Moshe Dyan and Nikita Khrushchev. His career allowed him to travel all over the world and his work received many accolades recognizing his talents. He later free-lanced in areas he preferred and recreated classic Monet, Degas and Renior works for his wife.
His life and career were full of art, travel, his loving wife and many Daschunds. He was a gentle man and a gentleman. We will miss his humorous side and the special love he had for family and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held at the United Church of Rowayton, 210 Rowayton Avenue, Rowayton on Monday, April 13, 2009 at 10:00 AM with interment following at Rowayton Union Cemetery.
The family requests that donations be made to Vitas Hospice, 777 Commerce Drive, Suite 220, Fairfield, CT 06825, whose care and support made his journey comfortable.
