Obituary of June M. Reilly

June M. Reilly, a resident of Darien for the last 13 years and a prior resident of Stamford for 22 years, died on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at Stamford Hospital. Born in 1918 in Petaluma, CA, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Eileen (Antonin) Pitt. She was 89. June was a member of St. John R.C. Church in Darien. She volunteered at the Darien Book Aid and was a member of the Nutmeg Quilters and was past president and member of the Goodwives Quilters in Darien. She was a student of Life Learners at Norwalk Community College. June was a world traveler, a wonderful mother, loved to play card games and read books with her grandchildren. She was a fabulous artist, excellent chef, loved to garden, an incredible crafter, an excellent seamstress and loved to spend time at the beach. She is survived by her four children, David A. Reilly of Hicksville, NY; Dennis P. Reilly of Seattle, WA; Brian W. Reilly of Linden, CA; and Terri Reilly of Ridgefield, CT. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Philip A. Reilly and one daughter, Susan Connolly. Friends may call at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John R.C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
