Obituary of Ambrose A. Pleasic

Ambrose A. Pleasic, 94, died at Stamford Hospital on April 5, 2008. He was born in Darien on April 21, 1913 to the late Michael and Helen (Oras) Pleasic. An avid athlete and gardener, Ambrose was a Darien Native and graduated from Darien High School. He was a lifelong member of the Darien Fire Department, an Eagle Scout, and also a member of St. John's R.C. Church in Darien. Ambrose worked for the Noroton Post Office and the Darien Post office for 35 years. He also retired from the Darien Special Police Force. Ambrose is survived by two daughters: Suzanne Judy and her husband John of Kennewick WA, Jennifer Beardsley and her husband Richard of Stamford CT, and a son Thomas Pleasic and his wife Debbie of Tinton Falls NJ. Ambrose is also survived by 9 Grandchildren ; Douglas Scherrer, David Scherrer, Stephen Scherrer, Diana Scherrer, Derek Judy, Corrin Judy, Jaime Beardsley, Dennis Beardsley, and Jeffrey Pleasic, and 6 Great Grandchildren Joshua, Zachary, Ellie, Lily, Rose and Julia Scherrer and nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. He was pre-deceased by his wife Anna Potts Pleasic, daughter Geraldine A. Scherrer and 14 brothers and sisters. Calling Hours will be held atl the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home 2119 Post Rd Darien, on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St John R.C. Church 1986 Post Road Darien on Wednesday at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien.
