Obituary of Marie E. Clare

Marie E. Clare, a long time resident of Darien, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2011 in Darien. Born on August 21, 1919 in New Haven, CT, she was the daughter of the late Earle L. Weed and Martha Lenk Weed. She was 91. Marie graduated from Norwalk High School. She proudly served in the military during World War II. She worked as a receptionist for Russell Frost. She was a member of R.S.V.P. and A.A.R.P She is survived by two sons, Gary E. Clare and his wife, Terry, of Carlsbad, CA and Roger L. Clare and his wife, Marion, of Orange, CT and two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Alison. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward G. Clare. The family will received friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Thursday, June 2, 2011 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Services are private.
