John Frances Cooke, a resident of New Canaan and a former resident of Darien, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2011 in New Canaan, Born on August 4, 1942 in Stamford, he was the son of the late Harry and Mildred Cooke. He was 68. John graduated from Darien High School. He owned and operated Northwinds Limousine Company. He was a member of the Noroton Heights Fire Department and was actively involved in Darien Little League for many years. The family would like to xpress their gratitude to Brandy for being a wonderful friend. He is survived by his wife, Patricia F. Cooke of New Canaan; a daughter, Wendy E. Cooke of New Canaan; a son, Timothy Andrew Cooke and his wife Catherine Rose of Stamford; and four grandchildren, Arlington Lucas Trenck, Isabella Marie Grecco, Henry William Cooke and Lillian Mackesy Cooke. He is also survived by a brother Thomas H. Cooke of Danbury, CT. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Friday, June 3, 2011 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. A Graveside Service will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Arthritis Foundation, Northern & Southern New England Chapter, 35 Cold Spring Road, #411, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
