Obituary of Charles F. Moody
Please share a memory of Charles to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Charles Freeman Moody, Jr., died on Tuesday, May 24th in his home in Stamford, CT. The son of Charles and Alice Moody of Yonkers, NY, Moody graduated from Brown University and received an MBA from Columbia. Moody served on the carrier, Antietam, during the Korean conflict. After an honorable discharge, he began his career with Phelps Dodge in NYC and finished his career running his own company, Risk Management Programs.
Moody met his wife, Lori, in the Hamptons. They married in NYC, moved to Salt Box Lane East in Darien in 1973 and raised three children, Chip, Lisi and David. Chuck, as he is familiarly known was a true family man. He spent his weekends driving his children to hockey games and swim meets while squeezing in as many tennis games as he could. Moody was an elected member of the RTM for 8 years. He was a baseball coach for Little League, and an Indian Guide and Princess father marching in every Memorial Day parade reluctantly wearing full body war paint. Chuck was a former member of the Country Club of Darien, and a member of Salt Box Lane Tennis, and Noroton Manor Tennis Associations.
Moody is survived by his wife Lori, his children Chip, David and Lisi and husband Jeff Rutledge, granddaughters Lauren and Carly Rutledge, brother Jim and wife Donna of Mt. Lakes, NJ, nieces Laurel George, Krista Moody, and nephew Jay Moody.
