Obituary of Mary C. Kaufmann

Mary Cogswell Kaufmann, a 65 year resident of Darien, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2014 in Darien. Born on January 21, 1918 in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Lee Cogswell. She was 96.
Mary graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 1939 with a B.S. degree in English. She was a voracious reader, gardener, cook, bridge player and world traveler with her many friends whom she adored.
Mary is survived by her three children, Robert C. Kaufmann of Silver Spring, MD; Susan K. Harris of Rowayton, CT; William R. Kaufmann of Newnan, GA and eight grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Kaufmann, who she married in 1949.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Luke's Parish, 1864 Post Road, Darien.
