Obituary of Mary-Lloyd Bogardus Lyne

Mary-Lloyd Bogardus Lyne, a resident of Norwalk and of Ocean Ridge, FL died peacefully on Tuesday, February 1st. Born in Upper Montclair, N.J. on December 25, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Dwight Stitzer and Anne Lloyd Stitzer. Mrs. Lyne graduated from the Kent Place School in Summit, N.J. and attended Connecticut College. She married Allan B. Bogardus in 1953 from Darien where they lived for 46 years. She was predeceased by her husband who died in 1999. She married Eugene Lyne of Boston, MA and Ocean Ridge, FL in 2006 who predeceased her in 2010. Mrs. Lyne was a volunteer at the Stamford Hospital for many years and also belonged to the Wee Burn Country Club and the Ocean Club in Ocean Ridge, FL. She was a member of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America. She is survived by five children: Anne B. Creary of Tempe, AZ; Janet A. Bogardus of Norwalk; William D. Bogardus and his wife Margot of New York, NY; Allan B. Bogardus, Jr. of Darien, and Elizabeth L.E.B. Ison and her husband Timothy of South Kingstown, RI; and three grandchildren Matthew M. Creary, Hailey L. Bogardus, and William J. Bogardus; five step-children and eleven step-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 11th, at St. Luke's Parish, 1864 Post Road in Darien. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Seeing Eye, Inc., P.O.
