Virginia H. Andrews, a resident of Darien since 1943, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Elam Park Baptist Home in Cheshire, CT. Born on February 5, 1917 in Springdale, CT, she was the daughter of the late Alice Hoyt and Daniel Edward Horton. She was 93. Virginia graduated from Stamford High School and Short Secretarial School. She worked as an executive secretary for 15 years at Union Trust retiring in 1982. She was a member and volunteer at Calvary Baptist Church in Darien, attended Greenwich Baptist Church and a volunteer at the Darien Red Cross as well as a blood donor of over 20 gallons. She is survived by one son, Greg Andrews and his wife Sharon of Stamford. She was predeceased by her husband Taylor G. Andrews and one son Raymond H. Andrews. A memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 988 Post Road, Darien on Monday, February 7, 2011 at 11:00 AM. A private burial will be held at Fairfield Memorial Park in Stamford.
