Obituary of Robert J. Themack

Robert J. Themack, a long time resident of Stamford, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2011 in Stamford. Born in 1928 in New York, he was the son of the late Helene Hoffman and Albert Themack.
Bob graduated from Fordham Preparatory, Fordham University and the Art Institute of Chicago. He was a retired graphic artist for GTE. He served as a Lieutenant with the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. Bob was a 20-year member of Zion Lutheran Church in Stamford and sang in their choir. He was an artist member of the Rowayton Art Center and the Art Society of Old Greenwich. He was a member of the Stamford Roasters Club and drew the caricature of the Roastee for 20 years for the Annual Roasters Dinner.
Bob sang seven years with the Westchester Oratorio Society including two performances at Carnegie Hall. The last four years, he sang with the Norwalk Community Chorale.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Ginny Pittman of Rowayton; two cousins, Dorothy Vitto and Helen Doino both of Bronx, NY and their extended families.
A Memorial Service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 132 Glenbrook Road, Stamford on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM.
