Obituary of Brooks Renwick

Brooks Renwick, 43, passed away suddenly on February 20, 2014 in Norwalk Hospital. Born July 13, 1970 in Greenwich, CT, he was the son of Ginni Genestra of Norwalk and the late Richard Renwick. Brooks grew up in the Rowayton section of Norwalk, graduating from St. Luke's School (Class of '89). After attending Northeastern University and spending some time in Southern California, Brooks joined the family business, F&G Construction, where he was employed at the time of his death, driving heavy equipment all over the east coast and helping to manage the business. Brooks was a fearless, avid sportsman. He played hockey for most of his life including adult leagues. He loved the watersailing, boating, waterskiing and fishing, participating in annual Shark Tournaments in Montauk, LI. He was a member of the East Norwalk Yacht Club. Then there were the wheelsBrooks could and did drive anything and everything but he especially loved his Harleys and dirt bikes, participating in motorcycle racing and bi ke weeks in Laconia, NH and Sturgis when he could. Brooks' free spirit and sparking smile will be sorely missed by his three daughters, Bailey, Brinn and Brielle and his step-son, Will Ayles. Brooks is also survived by his mother and step-father, Ginni and Fred Genestra, his step-brother, Russell and wife Katie Genestra, step-sister Laura Genestra, nieces Coral and Grace and nephew Michael. In addition to his father, he was pre-deceased by his brother Jerry. Brooks will be remembered and missed as a hard worker, a good friend, brother, uncle and father, always there when you need him. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, February 27th from 4- 8 pm at Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Boston Post Rd. Darien, CT. A service celebrating his life will be held on Friday, February 28th at 12 Noon at United Church of Rowayton, 210 Rowayton Avenue, Rowayton, CT. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to a scholarship fund for his children which can be set up at TD BANK, 55 Post Road, Darien, CT 06820, or a charity of your choice.
