Obituary of Michael S. Frate

Michael S. Frate, 54, passed away in Atlanta, GA on December 17, 2010 after a lengthy illness. Michael was the son of William and Anne Weed Frate of Darien, CT. A graduate of Darien High School, Class of 1975, Mike was a co-captain of the soccer team and a friend to all. He went to the University of Vermont, graduating in 1979 with a degree in Business Administration. Michael spent his career in sales. His first position was with DuBois Chemical in Sales Management, from 1979 to 1987, where he received many awards. He moved to Virginia Beach, VA to join Hilti, Inc, to develop new markets as residential specialist. He achieved success to place in the Million Dollar Sales Club. Michael's final move to Atlanta, GA came in 199l to work as a sales consultant and technical advisor. He installed and maintained industrial accounts for Black Bear Corp. throughout the Southeast. In addition to his parents, Michael is survived by his sister, Kathryn Frate of No. Kingstown, RI; his brother, William A. Frate, Jr. and his wife Dawn; his niece Danielle Frate and his nephew; Corey Frate all of Darien. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. John R. C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 12 Noon.
