Obituary of Nariman M. Deboo

Nariman Minocher Deboo, a 29-year Darien resident, died at his home in Darien on Friday, November 2 of cancer. Mr. Deboo, 62, was the husband of Dhun Deboo also of Darien. Mr. Deboo was born in 1945 and raised in Bombay, India. He attended the Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering. Thereafter, he immigrated to the United States, where he earned a management degree from the Sloan School of Management at MIT. Shortly after graduating he married Dhun Sukheswala in 1970. The couple moved to Darien in 1978, where they lived ever since, and where they raised two children. Mr. Deboo worked for American Airlines in New York from 1970 to 1980. He joined American Express Bank in New York in 1980 and worked there until his retirement in 2005. He was a volunteer for the Red Cross. Mr. Deboo was a devoted husband and father. In addition to his wife, Mr. Deboo is survived by his children Shireen Deboo of Seattle, WA; Cyrus and Maureen Deboo of Darien; and a brother, Farrokh Deboo of New Canaan, CT. A memorial service was held at the Lawrence Funeral Home in Darien on November 4. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
