Obituary of Catherine Teresa Sansone

Catherine Teresa Sansone, 99, of Darien, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2014 after a long illness. Born in Capriata d'orba, Allesandria, Italy, in the Piedmonte region on December 7, 1914, she was the daughter of the late William and Annetta Stassano. Catherine lived in Stamford and attended the Stamford School system. She was a resident of Darien since 1949. She is survived by her daughters, Dolores (Laurie) and Al Lyon of Madison, CT; Florence Sansone of Darien; Sandra and Bruce Fales of Fairfield and her adored grandchildren, Ken (Lynn) Lyon of Norwalk; Rick (Suellen) Lyon of Easton; Sharon (Mark) Gagnon of Trumbull; Cindy Fales (Bill Coward) of Easton; Susan (Bill) Tweedy of Fairfield; and John (Susan) Fales of Norwalk. Also surviving are her beloved 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Frank (Jenny) Stassano of Darien. Catherine was predeceased by her husband, Peter, in 1993. She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Peter Stassano and two sisters, Teresa Pia and Helen Costibile. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John R.C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery in Darien.
