Obituary of Frank Paul Robotti

Frank Paul Robotti, a former five year resident of Darien and a longtime resident of Greenwich, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at Nathaniel Witherell Nursing Home in Greenwich. Born on February 1, 1923 in Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Paul and Maria (Chiambalero) Robotti. He was 90.
Frank served with the U.S. Army during WWII and landed on Omaha Beach at Normandy. He worked at the Post Office in the Bronx for 35 years. The family moved to Greenwich in 1968. He loved to bowl and was president of his bowling club. He was also a volunteer for Red Cross and an artist. He loved his family, his country, the Yankees, the Giants, cigars and occasional bourbon. He always had a twinkle in his eye, a wonderful sense of humor and was a kind and gentle man. He will be missed by all.
He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Antoinette Colasuonno, in 2004. He is survived by his four children, Maria Trunkenbolz of Spokane, WA; Paul Robotti of Honolulu, HI; Vincent Robotti and his wife Lisa of Oceanside, CA and Caryn Marshall of Riverside, CT. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Rachael Mau-Robotti, Glenn Marshall, Brett Marshall and Alana Robotti. Also surviving are two cousins, Charles Chiambalero and Sister Virginia Chiambalero and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Monday, December 30, 2013 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas More Church, 374 Middlesex Road, Darien on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 10:00 AM.
