Obituary of Pauline C. Bauder

Pauline C. Bauder, a resident of Darien for more than 50 years and an active volunteer in the community, died on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was 94. She was born on June 18, 1919 in Bethlehem, Pa., the daughter of James and Lucy (Flecksteiner) Cunningham. She was the wife of the late Burton E. Bauder, who died in 1980. She moved to Darien in the 1950s. A homemaker, she was a member of the Darien Community Association, and worked in the DCA's thrift shop. She was a longtime volunteer for the 60 Plus Club, and was honored by the Town of Darien as a volunteer of the year. She was a longtime parishioner at St. Thomas More Church. She is survived by four children: Thomas Bauder of Fairfield; Donald Bauder of Westfield, IN; Jane Reinecke of Guilford; and David Bauder of Croton-on-Hudson, NY; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Friday, Dec. 20 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas More Church on Saturday, Dec. 21 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery in Darien.
