Obituary of Marienne Dorothea Fahey

Marienne D. Fahey, 92, born in Stamford, CT, died Thursday at Cambridge Manor, Fairfield. She was the daughter of Frank J. and Anna O'Neill Healy, and the wife of the late Dr. Bartley A. Fahey. Marienne was a graduate of New Haven State Teacher's College, now Southern CT State University. She taught in Stamford at Hart School for two years before marrying Bartley and moving to Darien where they lived for over 50 years and raised 5 children together. Marienne served on the Council of School Parents in Darien, and the Women's Auxiliary at St. Joseph Hospital in Stamford. She helped establish the Women's Guild of the newly formed St. Thomas More Parish in Darien, and was a member of the committee responsible for designing and building the new church. She was also a long time member of the Country Club of Darien. Marienne is survived by five children, Alison Hughes (Robert), Meredith Fahey (Alison Cunningham), Dale-Beth Zaino (Francis), Michael Fahey (Linda), and Gregory Fahey(Rosalyn). She was predeceased by her sister Lois Dyas and brothers Frank Healy and William Healy. She is survived by two sisters-in-law Frances Healy and Lillian Healy. She leaves 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. Marienne loved spending time with her family and many close friends, both in Darien and in Venice, FL where she spent many winters. Her family are especially grateful for the loving care she received from the staff at Cambridge Manor where she resided for 13 years. Calling hours will be 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, December 8 at Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 Monday, December 9 at St. Thomas More Church, 374 Middlesex Road, Darien. Internment will follow at St. John Cemetery in Darien.
