Obituary of Edith Dorothy Craig

Edith Dorothy Craig, a resident of Darien since 1965 and prior 13 year resident of Greenwich, passed away on August 17, surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late August Weirich and Margaret Flannery Weirich. She was also the beloved wife of the late Francis B. Craig. She was 85. Edith was born in Carbondale, PA. She was a parishioner of St. Thomas More in Darien. In addition, she was a member of the Darien chapter AARP and the Sixty Plus club. She is survived by her two loving daughters, Judi Burke Carta of Darien, CT and Margaret Burke Wypychoski and husband (David)of Milford, CT. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Michele Carta, Dr. Patti Carta-Ledford and husband (Chip), Chrissie Carta, Alexis Welby-Cassidy and husband (Joseph) and one great granddaughter Christina Ledford. She was pre-deceased by one brother and seven sisters. Calling hours will be held at the Lawrence Funeral Home 2119 Post Rd., Darien CT, on Tuesday, August 21, 2007 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas More on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park in Stamford. In lieu of flowers donations be made to the Alzeheimers Association, in memory of Edith’s late sister, 10 Wall Street, Apt 211, Norwalk, CT 06850-3434.
