Joaquin Paul Rodriguez, 83, of Darien, CT, died peacefully on Sunday, November 24th. Born in New York City on December 16, 1929, Paul was the son of the late Joaquin Paulino and Josephine Hofmann Rodriguez of New Rochelle, NY. He attended Iona Prep and graduated from Georgetown University cum laude with a B.A. in history. He received a commission in the United States Navy, where he served on the aircraft carrier the Kula Gulf during the Korean War. He attended Harvard Business School and upon graduation joined J&W Seligman, where he spent his entire career pursuing his passion for investing. He met his future wife Judy in New York City. They married in 1958 and moved to Connecticut soon after. Darien was their home for many wonderful years where they raised their four daughters and enjoyed the community with great friends. Paul served for many years on the Parish Council of St. Thomas More Church, and on the Boards of the Darien Library, The Friends of Post 53 and Kolbe Cathedral High School in Bridgeport CT. He will be remembered for his curiosity, and love of travel and history. He is survived by his wife Judith Davidson Rodriguez and four daughters and sons-in-law: Susan Rodriguez and Charles Lowrey of New York City; Elizabeth and Jay Chandler of New York City; Carol and Stephen Geremia of Sherborn, MA; and Anne and Bruce McGuire of Darien, CT; and seven grandchildren: Matthew, Alex, Nate, Jamie, Caroline, Isabelle and Grace; and his sister, Elaine Rodriguez Rowe of Scarsdale, NY. His sister Joan A. Rodriguez predeceased him. A service will be held at St. Thomas More Church in Darien, CT on Saturday, November 30 at 10:30 am.
