Obituary of Patricia C. Keller
Please share a memory of Patricia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Patricia C. Keller, 92, a resident of Rowayton for 58 years, died on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at the Fountainview Center for Alzheimer's Disease in Atlanta, Ga., where she had lived since 2014.
Born Patricia Covington in England on Jan. 30, 1924, Mrs. Keller grew up in London. She came to the United States in 1947 to marry Mitchell Keller of New Haven, Conn., whom she had met when he was stationed in England with the U.S. Air Force in World War II. The couple and their first three children settled in Rowayton in 1956.
Mrs. Keller was a gardener and an enthusiastic walker and had a special passion for the culinary arts, her skills at which were prized by her family and friends and all visitors to her home.
Having survived the war in London as a very young woman, Mrs. Keller regarded all of life's hardships as challenges to be risen to and unflinchingly met. She hated all forms of unfairness, cruelty, bigotry and narrow-mindedness. She was a keen and often witty judge of character and was admired by all who knew her for her warm and giving heart, large sense of humor and ability to see the best in people.
For many years she was a dedicated volunteer at Treasure House Thrift Shop in Norwalk, the primary activity of the Woman's Board of Norwalk Hospital.
Mrs. Keller was predeceased by her husband and by five brothers and a sister.
Survivors include four children: Mitchell C. Keller of Bronx, N.Y., Moira H. Keller of Atlanta, Ga., Roger C. Keller of Ridgefield, Conn., and Ian C. Keller of Rowayton; a sister, Eileen Wheeler of Henley-on-Thames, England; and five grandchildren.
Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Norwalk. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Treasure House Gift Shop, 5 Isaacs St., Norwalk CT 06850. For more information, please go to www.lawrencefuneralhome.com.
