Obituary of Henric F. Segers

Henric F. Segers, a long-time resident of Norwalk, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Norwalk Hospital. Born on November 1, 1919 in Antwerp, Belgium, he was the son of the late Louis and Louise (Matthias) Segers. He was 93.
Henry graduated from New Canaan High School in 1937 and Electrical State Trade school in 1940. He worked as an Electrician for IBEW 208. Henry served in the U.S. Army during WWII and received such medals as the Good Conduct Medal, the American Defense Service Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal and the Purple Heart. Henry was an avid bowler and New York Yankees fan.
He is survived by his two sons, Rick (Kathy) Segers of Glen Allen VA; Kenneth (Donna) Segers of Norwalk CT; and one daughter Debbie (Earl) Tyler of Torrington CT. He is also survived by a brother Peter Segers of the Bronx, NY and one sister Josephine Hamm of Norwalk CT; as well as 9 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren, and his beloved dog Sysco.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years, Angeline (Lina) Segers, who passed away in 2003. He was also predeceased by two sisters Marion Hamm and Margaret Verrity.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 1, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien, CT, followed by an Inurnment with full military honors, at St. John's Community Mausoleum in Norwalk CT. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Oncology Dept. at Norwalk Hospital, at Norwalk Hospital Foundation 34 Maple Street Norwalk CT, 06856.
