Obituary of Dorothea E. Adams

Dorothea E. Adams, a former longtime resident of Darien, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Regency Heights of Stamford. Born on February 9, 1913 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Hazel (Lowerre) Van Oppen. She was 100.
Dorothea worked as a cafeteria worker at Holmes School for many years.
She is survived by 10 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Adams, Sr. in 1972 and two sons, Charles Adams and Ernest Adams, Jr.
The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Thursday, October 10, 2013 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at Spring Grove Cemetery on Thursday, Ocotber 10, 2013 at 1:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
