My heartfelt sympathy to the family and friends of Jack E. Wood. It was a pleasure and honor to know Jack, first as a business associate, but then as good friend over the many years since I first met him in November 1979 at the 3M Scotch-Brite National Sales Convention in Bermuda. I will miss the business calls and one-on-one visits with Jack that always turned into more of a conversation on what was going on with each of us, trading information on shared contacts and friends and just good general conversation we did eventually get around to discussing business if needed. Jacks positive attitude and just good old fashioned friendliness will be sorely missed by me and everyone who knew him.

My thoughts, prayers and condolences to the family during this difficult time. Jack and I shared a common bond starting our careers at 3M then moving on with Sales careers selling for Massasoit Tool where we've worked together 20+ years. Jack was a professional, kind man who cared about everyone. He would randomly call just to see how things were going and loved to talk about his family. I invited Jack on a couple golf weekends and he took me up on the offer! He loved the game along with everyone he could squeeze a round in with! Jack was dedicated to his customers and family. He took great pride in maintaining high standards of conduct and I learned much from him. You will be missed my friend!

Jack was one of my important mentors. I met Jack in 1993 when I relocated from Maryland to Connecticut. I was a young 3M Coated Abrasive Sales Rep. Jack and I spent a lot of time together calling on and doing business with numerous accounts together. Jack passed on a tremendous amount of wisdom to me. Taught me to appreciate the role of good industrial distribution and the importance of being a professional. I have always appreciated the many lessons that I learned from Jack and I would like to think that in some small way I am part of the legacy he leaves behind. Rest in Peace Jack...

On every occasion I found him a kind and delightful person who was a wonderful conversationalist with an optimistic soul in spite of health issues. In particular I remember he made a skillet apple pie at both Dawn's and Peggy's. It was delicious not just because of the ingredients, but because Jack baked in love.
