Obituary of Francis Joseph Hurley

Francis Joseph Hurley, 86, a 66 year resident of Stamford, passed away peacefully with his wife and children by his side on Friday, September 6, 2013. Born August 19, 1927 in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son of the late Vincent and Betty Hurley.
Francis served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After retiring from HELCO, he was a self-employed general contractor.
Francis is survived by his cherished wife of 66 years, Frances Martin Hurley; their devoted children, Robert Hurley of Stamford; and Jane Nordwall and husband Bjorn Nordwall of Chapel Hill, NC. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Bjorn Ryan Nordwall and Cory Sofia Nordwall of Chapel Hill, NC. He was predeceased by one brother, Robert Hurley.
A private graveside service will be held at St. John Cemetery, Darien.
