Thomas Lambard Robinson, 73, died peacefully in Bridgeport, CT on June 13, 2013. He was born in Casa Grande, AZ on July 19th, 1939, son of Elizabeth Willcox Robinson and the newspaper publisher Thomas Lambard Robinson, Sr. Robinson, who grew up primarily in Charlotte, NC, attended the Christ School in Arden, NC, Harvard College, and New York University's business school. He founded The Money Market Directory, an index of financial service companies, and during his career in marketing and finance, was employed by The New York Times, Sperry Rand, The Hearst Corporation, and Best Foods.
What his friends and family cherished most about him was his enthusiasm, his uncanny wisdom, his warmth, his unconventional approach, and his generous spirit. He was a devoted member of the Bridgeport/Fairfield recovery community, a loving caregiver to his mother, and a life coach to his niece and nephews. An avid list maker, Tom often enumerated his aspirations, which included visiting with relatives, a desire to "experience awe" and "to suddenly be authentic," and a willingness to "give all for love." He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Blake and Marjorie Robinson, of Darien, CT, and his sister-in-law, Linda Robinson, of Waltham, MA (wife of his late brother, Samuel Robinson, II) as well as his niece, Jesse Robinson, of Jamaica Plain, Boston, and nephews, Sam Robinson of Philadelphia, PA and Lewis Robinson, of Portland, ME. A memorial service in Tom Robinson's honor will be held on Saturday, June 29th at 2pm at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church, 661 Old Post Road, Fairfield, CT.
