Obituary of Peter Griffith Hanley

Peter Griffith Hanley, a resident of Darien for the last five years and a former 30 year resident of Atlanta, GA, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Stamford Hospital. Born on September 18, 1952 in Stamford, he was the son of Jack and Judith Jones Hanley of Darien. Peter was raised in Darien, graduated from St. Luke's School in New Canaan and from Marietta College. He was a long time Little League volunteer in the Atlanta, GA area. Besides his parents, he is survived by two children, Steven J. Hanley of Acworth, GA and Jessica A. Hanley of Woodstock, GA and a grandson, Jackson Self. He is also survived by a sister Carol Forlenzo of Darien and his former wife, Belinda Hanley of Roswell, GA. The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Sunday, April 28, 2013 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. A service will be held at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, Darien on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Denise Trogdon of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Darien. Interment will be private. The family would like to express their gratitude for the exceptional care Peter received while in Stamford Hospital.
