I am so sorry to hear about Mrs. Vojta's passing. I was a Postie between 2005-2009, not only did she train me to become an EMT, she was a driving force in realizing my future career choice. I am privileged to be able to use some of the skills she taught me everyday as a PA. She was an incredible woman whose impact will never be forgotten and her teachings and dedication to volunteerism will live on in all her students.

Marilyn was a dear high school friend. We spent many good times together growing up in Downers Grove. I am so glad we were able to spend some time together at our 50th high school reunion! After that we kept in touch through email and Facebook. I am saddened by her death; I know she will be a guardian angel to many, a continuation of her willingness to reach out to all who might need help. All members of her family are in my thoughts and my prayers. Sincerely, Gail Avgeris

Marilyn's laugh and fun was always a competition to be on call with her. She was smart but not over zealous in her care of patients and let the student EMTs care as much as possible. She and Diedre Hitch believed in me when i did not believe in myself and helped me go premed. 28 years later I have been named Washington, D.C.'s top internal medicine doctors multiple times. This is not to brag; but to bring back the ability of a mentor on a mentee's ability and how strong that bond is. Post 53 with Marilyn made medicine fun-- as I do with all my students that i mentor now. Marilyn's love of life and joy of all things should be a reminder of how the smell of a rose or coffee; or a simple band aid with a smile can make a difference in many people's lives. I have not seen Marilyn in over 28 yrs but her soul and light of life have never left me... May we all remember her beautiful smile Patrick Correnty, M.D.

What an incredible person she was having touched the lives of so many in such meaningful ways. From my time at the Post (1980-83), I still have vivid memories of Marilyn as a leader, mentor and compassionate caregiver-- I hope you take comfort and pride in wonderful memories of a life well lived and a legacy that will live on in the hearts and minds of so many--

My deepest condolences to the Vojta family for the loss of such a beautiful matriarch. I first met Mrs. Vojta at a preschool picnic the summer Alba and my daughter, Daisy, were 2 . I was struck by her kindness and joyful spirit that day, as well as her warm words of motherly advice and encouragement for a parent still in the beginning of her journey. I enjoyed seeing her many times after that, either happily picking up Alba at school or attending school events, at birthday parties and the like. She always had a beaming smile and a nice word for everyone. Most of all, one could sense her deep love for her family. And indeed, every time I saw her I was reminded of how much Alba takes after her the same sparkling eyes and smile. May you all be comforted by your memories and the abiding love you shared. Warmly, Jen Hampton

Marilyn Vojta became an adult adviser in the last year and a half of my time as a Postie, in 76' - 79'. She was a delightful, refreshing and lovely person - we all looked forward to being on duty with Mrs. V. I can still hear her laugh and Windy City accent. In the summer of 79' my parents moved from Darien and I was a bit of a vagabond. Mrs. Vojta had me stay at her house for a short time and I really appreciated that. She cared for others in in a demonstrable way. I send my deepest condolences to her family in this acutely sorrowful time.

My deepest condolences to your family. Marilyn was a true friend and partner in executive search. She helped me get started in my business, was extremely generous with her experience and wisdom, and gave me confidence to work through the ups and downs. I had the pleasure of meeting her on one of my trips to Pepsico and she was a delight! She will be missed as someone who navigated the shark-infested waters of executive search and was a true helper and mentor. I hope your memories of her are as wonderful as mine and that they help you through this difficult time.

To us, Marilyn is the example of how people should live. There is a German saying, "We soon grow too old but smart too late." That is not true for Marilyn. She knew what her priorities and values were and lived them every day in her interactions with her family, friends, and even complete strangers. She is and always will be a shining example in my life. God, please welcome your new angel into heaven and give strength to her family and friends in this very difficult time. Remember Marilyn's smile and laugh. That is what she would have wanted. She will be watching out for us from above, as she did on this earth, and that is a comforting feeling.
