Obituary of Douglas Gale Wakefield

Douglas Gale Wakefield, a resident of Darien since 1976, passed away at Stamford Hospital on October 11, 2015. Doug was born on September 7, 1936 in Norwalk CT to the late Milford Wakefield and Ruth Gale. He was 79. Doug served with the Darien Police Department for 20 years and retired as a sergeant, after serving four years in the U. S. Marine Corps. He was an avid fly fisherman and an expert at tying flies for trout fishing. Doug is survived by his wife Barbara of Darien, his daughter Heather Wakefield of Milford, CT and son John Wakefield of Montpelier, VT. A Visitation will be held at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien CT 06820 on Saturday October 17, 2015 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
