Pier: It is so sad to see you go. When I talked with Lauren on Sunday evening I had a hard time believing that you are no longer with us. It brought back all the memories I had of you. How you always tried to pull a leg on me, with your very original Australian humour. How you went to Spain with Lauren. Came back and moved into my old office at 800 Westchester Avenue, working for Nancy. We went over so many KFI Asian and Central European AFPs once I had started working with for Brian at KFI. You were pretty easy to deal with. I know that when you were tough with us it was because Nancy was asking some tough questions. And you always had that smile on your face. Then one day, early in the morning you called me at home and asked who my primary care physician was because you hadn't selected one yet. I referred you to Dr. Greeley in Stamford and you showed up there with appendicitis. I drove Lauren, who was then working with me for Brian at KFI, to Stamford Hospital. But like everything, you took it with humour. Toughed it out and came back as our smiling Pier. Then your first bout of cancer. What an ordeal. But again, you made it and came back to work. I then left KFI and we lost contact a bit, but you were the first from KFI/Altria to call me when my son was born 15 months ago. I wish I had known what you went through in the last few months and we could have kept more in touch. I am asking myself: "Why is God taking the nicest people first?" What's the answer? I hope the answer is that you have it better where you are now. Please look after all of us down here. Pier, we miss you!
