Obituary of Betty Ann Morris

Betty Ann Morris, a 55-year resident of Darien, CT, died on August 21st. She was 90 years old. Betty Ann was born in Oakland, CA, and raised in California, Hawaii, London and New York City. She was the daughter of the late IJ Harvey, and Mignon Wilson Harvey of New York. She attended the Todhunter School in New York City, and graduated from Vassar College in 1942. An active member of the Darien community, Betty Ann was a committed volunteer at the local chapter of the American Red Cross, and the Stamford Chapter of Meals on Wheels. In 1992, she and her husband, Larry Morris, were named Darien's Couple of the Year to honor their dedicated service to the community. She was a devoted member of the Noroton Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Wee Burn Country Club. Betty Ann was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence B Morris, Jr., to whom she was married for 60 years, and her brother, Wilson Harvey (of Los Angeles, CA). She is survived by her three children - Lawrence Morris, III, of Boxford, MA, Michele Carballude of New York City and San Rafael, Argentina, and Anne Keyser of Cambridge, MA, and six grandchildren - Whitney, Alexandra, Casey and Michael Morris, and Robert and Cornelia Keyser. Her family, friends and religion were most important to her. A memorial service to celebrate Betty Ann's life will be held on August 29th at 2pm at the Noroton Presbyterian Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Noroton Presbyterian Church or the Darien Chapter of the American Red Cross.
