Mary A. Parente, a resident of Darien, passed away on Monday, August 6, 2012 at Stamford Hospital. Born on November 11, 1911 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Rosina Verdi Greco. She was 100. Mary worked for New York Bell Telephone Company for over 30 years where she rose to managerial level. She was an avid reader and enjoyed walking.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Benzenberg of Darien; two grandchildren, Jeanie Edwards and Margaret Stroffolino and three great grandchildren, Lauren, Haley and Hannah.
The family will receive friends at the Edward Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien on Friday, August 10, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John R.C. Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery.
