Sylvia Hedwig Kiesel, a resident of Darien, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2015. She was born in Saekingen, Germany to the late Albert Gerspach and Frieda Kaser. She was 78. Sylvia graduated high school from Abitur and then went on to do a sales apprenticeship. She was a member of the Liedertafel-Singing Society, The German Club of Stamford and the Deutscher Club of Clark in New Jersey. She was also a homemaker. Sylvia is survived by her husband Rolf Kiesel of Darien, one daughter Petra; a son Siegfried Kiesel; and two grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Walter Gerspach of Wehr, Germany; two sisters, Edeltraud Aengenheyster of Deerfield Beach, FL and Lydia Gerspach of Goerwil, Germany and three nephews who live in the United States.
