Obituary of Marigrace Fuller Scudder

Marigrace Fuller Scudder, born Marigrace Rooney, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2015, at Yale New Haven Hospital after a courageous four and a half year battle with cancer. Marigrace was born on July 13, 1961, in Oceanside, California. She graduated from Boston College in 1983 with a BA in Art History. Marigrace was a dedicated parent and was active as a member of the Parent Teacher Organization at her children's respective schools. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Luke's Parish in Darien, CT and served on a number of different administrative and philanthropic committees. She was a former member of the Darien Association for the Education of the Gifted and a den leader of Boy Scout Pack 161. She was also a former board member of the YWCA of Darien/Norwalk and was a key fundraiser for the New Darien Nature Center. Marigrace was a member of the Roton Point Association, the Yale Club of New York City and The Madison Beach Club and a past member of the Norwalk Yacht Club and Corinthians. She was also a member of The Scudder Association Inc., a charitable organization offering scholarships for students going into the ministry, medicine or teaching and providing funding for The Scudder Memorial Hospital and the Christian Medical Center both in southern India. Marigrace was also active in MC3, a non-profit organization which raises funds for the support of Merton College, Oxford. She is survived by her husband, Charles Scudder, her children, Amanda Fuller of San Francisco and Sam and Julia Fuller of Darien, CT, as well as by her parents, John and Catherine Rooney of Norwell, MA and siblings, Elizabeth Petr of Acton, MA; Patricia Coffey of Milton, MA; Michael Rooney of Westwood, MA, and Stephen Rooney of Darien, CT and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
