Obituary of Kendall G. Getman

Kendall G. Getman, of Edgehill in Stamford, CT on July 10, 2012 Born October 17, 1915 in Cortland, NY to Arthur and Fredella Babcock Getman, Kendall was raised in Albany NY and graduated from Alfred University. He served his country in the US Army from 1942-1945, then raised his family in Darien CT from 1947-1999. He was a loving husband to Deborah Brennemann Getman (1915-2000) and father of two loving daughters, Barbara Getman Mack of Weld, ME and Ann Getman of Cambridge, MA. Ken was an acquisitions editor for science textbooks at Wiley & Sons (1939-1956), then at Holt, Reinhart & Winston (1956-1980) until retirement. He moved with Deborah to Edgehill community in 1999, where he died at home. Ken was an active member of the Noroton Presbyterian Church for 65 years. A memorial service will be held at the Noroton Presbyterian Chapel, 2011 Post Road, Darien on Tuesday, July 31, 2011 at 11:00 AM and internment will be private, in Richfield Springs, NY.
