Obituary of Arne Gustav Ohrn

Arne G. Ohrn, a life-long resident of Darien, died peacefully at home on Thursday, February 9, 2012, at the age of 96. He was well respected by all who knew him and beloved by his extended family.
Born in Dalarna, Sweden on June 11, 1915, Arne came to America with his family in 1924, at the age of nine. He is survived by his devoted wife of 71 years, Irene, and two married daughters, Carol Taylor of New Canaan, and Nancy Matthews of Darien. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Denny, David and Melissa Taylor; Stephen, Kristen and Liz Matthews. There are also ten great grandchildren: James, Lily, John, Matthew and Brian Taylor; Byrne and Gray Matthews; Eliza and Wesley Severud; and, Katherine Zablocki.
Visitation will be held at the Lawrence Funeral Home 2119 Post Road in Darien from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, February 13, 2012, followed by a service at 11:00 AM.
