Obituary of Harold Wilson Copeland

Harold Wilson Copeland, a lifelong resident of Darien, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Smith House in Stamford. Born on August 24, 1928 in North Hempstead, NY, he was the son of the late Robert and Lily Victoria (Wilson) Copeland. He was 86. Harold graduated from Darien High School in 1946. He retired from Southern New England Telephone Company where he worked as an installer and repairman for over 35 years. Harold was a member of the Turn of River Presbyterian Church in Stamford. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jean (Shields) Copeland of Darien; two sons, Kenneth Copeland and his wife Jennifer of Norwalk; Ronald Copeland and his wife Mary of Shorewood, MN; one daughter, Linda Kornmeyer of Trumbull, CT and seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Harold is also survived by a sister, Margaret Reddy of Denver, CO. He was predeceased by a brother Robert Copeland. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Fairfield Memorial Park, 230 Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford.
